On today’s episode, you heard that many popular movies benefit from the buzz after their release. In this sense, that means the positive word-of-mouth. When a good movie comes out, people tell their friends, family, and colleagues; they post about it on social media; and movie critics write positive articles in newspapers and on web sites. That creates some good buzz (some positive word-of-mouth) for the movie; it helps spread the word. The new Avengers movie has some good buzz, but it doesn’t need it: most people knew they wanted to see it in advance.
