Cottage industry

A cottage industry is a small group of companies that was created to serve a specific, often narrow purpose. In China, a cottage industry has developed to serve pregnant women who want to go to Canada just to have babies. In this cottage industry, they market their services online and even have in-person sales offices. I live in Chicago and pets are really popular among working professionals. A cottage industry has developed to walk and entertain pets while their owners are at work. You can sign up to have a person walk your dog in the middle of the day. Or, if your pooch is lucky, you can take him to “Doggie Day Care.” There are even dog spas. The cottage industry serves all the people who love to spoil their pets.
