If something will “do the trick,” it will achieve what you want. QR codes come in multiple sizes; if you just need a short string of text or numbers, a micro QR code would “do the trick,” or achieve what you want. The recipe calls for lime juice, but lemon juice should “do the trick.” The Wi-Fi stopped working, but restarting the router “did the trick.”
