DefinitionYour turn

When the helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven other passengers crashed, it was on its way, or “en route,” from the Bryant home to a youth sports facility. In that example, an object – the helicopter – is en route, but people can also be en route. You could also say that Kobe Bryant and the other passengers were en route to the youth sports facility.
