“Groupthink” is a way of thinking or making decisions as a group that discourages creativity or individual responsibility. Many mission statements use confusing jargon or try to say too much, the result of a roomful of executives succumbing to “groupthink,” or the result of a roomful of executives not thinking creatively. There’s always a danger of “groupthink” when two leaders are so alike. The teacher broke the class into smaller groups for discussion to avoid “groupthink.”
