A boy comes by to cheer her up, but she’s not “in the mood” to talk. She does not want to talk to the boy, or she’s not “in the mood” to talk to the boy. If you want to get sushi for dinner, you might say that you’re “in the mood” for sushi. After dinner, you might feel “in the mood” to watch a movie.
