Belgium’s team is in its prime. That means, the players are in the best years of their careers. To be in your prime is to be in the best possible time—your strongest time. It’s often said that people in their twenties are in the prime of their lives: the best possible time. But for those of us who work professional (non-sporting) jobs, the prime of our careers usually comes in our forties and early fifties. France’s team is not yet in its prime: France’s players will be in their prime in the next World Cup.
