Look someone in the eye

Mr. Rogers would look children in the eye and explain difficult topics. They were often topics other adults didn’t talk openly about. By looking children in the eye and talking about these topics, Mr. Rogers created a bond with generation of American youngsters. We say you “look someone in the eye” if you look directly into the person’s eyes.
