When something is “rigged,” especially a system, it is designed to let certain people win or benefit. Many people believe that the world of university admissions is rigged. They believe that children of wealthy parents have a much better chance of being admitted than children of middle class or poor parents. They think the system is rigged in favor of the rich, and rigged against the poor. The scandal we talk about in today’s episode will only enhance that viewpoint. Many people think politics is rigged in favor of the wealthy and powerful. What do you think?
