Take your chances

When you “take your chances” with something, you take a risk that it might not go well. Scientists say the Eyelash Viper snake is not aggressive, but Jeff is not going to take his chances. He’s not going to risk it by getting close to the snake. Jeff and JR are going to “take their chances” on a new project that they will announce soon. We don’t know how it’s going to go, but we’ll take our chances: we’ll take the risk because we are confident in our success!
