During today’s episode, you heard that JR is the one who chooses the categories for each episode on the web site. I joked that this is entirely JR’s decision; I don’t even have a say in the matter. To have a say in something means to be a part of the decision. If you have kids, you might give them a say in small family decisions—like what to have for dinner. But I doubt your kids have any say in larger decisions, like what kind of family car to buy. Here at Plain English, JR has a say in some of the episode topics. I, unfortunately, don’t have a say in the episode categories. Oh, well.
