“Up your game” means to try harder and improve the quality of what you are doing. As people become more aware of typical internet scams, the scammers have to “up their game:” they need to work a little harder to cheat people out of their money. The budget hotel chain is “upping its game” by adding free continental breakfast. The employee needs to “up her game” if she wants to get the next promotion.
