Doom and gloom

“Doom and gloom” is a feeling that a situation is bad and without hope. There is one exception to the overall “doom and gloom” in the duty-free industry, and that is China. China is the one exception to the very bad situation for the duty-free industry. The newspapers have been filled with stories of “doom and gloom” over the past year of the pandemic.
