“Finger-pointing” is making accusations of blame, often unfairly. After Mr. Singh was caught, “fingers started pointing” right away. The parties involved started blaming each other for what happened. In this example, it is used as a verb. There was a lot of “finger-pointing,” or casting blame on others, after the principal found out that the students were responsible for the prank. In this example, it is used as a noun.
