Hand in hand

If two things go “hand in hand,” they are closely connected or associated with each other. The two Volvo announcements may seem unrelated: how is selling electric cars related to the way sales take place? They seem like two different things, but they go “hand in hand.” At the University, research and teaching go “hand in hand.” Unfortunately, illness and poor housing conditions go “hand in hand.”
