The final say

If you have “the final say” it means you have the authority to decide how something ultimately happens or is done. As with most things in agriculture, Mother Nature has “the final say,” or Mother Nature ultimately determines how it happens. As the editor in chief, she has “the final say” on the layout for every magazine issue. The parents have “the final say” on the decision.
