Trailblazing

Mattel wanted to honor Frida Kahlo as a “trailblazing woman.” In this sense, trailblazing means that Frida Kahlo made her own path in life, where others had not gone before. When you create a walking or hiking trail in the woods, you mark the path with colored symbols on trees. When you do so, you blaze the trail. You mark the trail for others who follow.
