Wear many hats

When someone “wears many hats,” the person has many jobs or roles. The scientists that are heavily involved in the coronavirus pandemic have many roles: scientist, spokesman, and even therapist. These scientists “wear many hats” in the pandemic effort. Often at start-up companies, employees have to “wear many hats.” Someone hired to work in marketing might also have finance, operations, and sales responsibilities.
